Pataa nahin… Flow sirf tatsam (pure) Hindi mein hi aata hai… Shaayad Sanskrit ke effect ke kaaran… I don’t know… But somehow I feel it is easy to write poems in this form of Hindi…
Thanks for the appreciation 🙂
October 30, 2013 at 6:37 pm

Somebody didn’t even bother a translation jabkey pata hy nhi ati Pakistani hun. 😦
October 30, 2013 at 5:55 pm
Umm… Translation of this one is difficult… 😦 Contains many terms that make sense in Hindi only…
I can post the poem in Roman script if you want… Doing it right away…
What does Urdu translation say? Does it make sense?
October 30, 2013 at 5:59 pm
I understand. Some things make perfect sense in their original versions only! Yet I searched and the translation Google gave isn’t that bad.
And now that I know more than half of it, I can surely say that this is AMAZING.
October 30, 2013 at 6:06 pm
Yes… you see… the poem contains many many references to Hindu mythology…
Specifically lines… 5, 6, 7, 13, 16….
Baaki ka matlab bataa sakta hoon short mein… 🙂
October 30, 2013 at 6:16 pm
Sorry yaar… abhi thodaa kaam aa gayaa hai… kal parso translate kar doonga… Pakkaa… Ok?
October 30, 2013 at 6:24 pm

Here you go…
Who am I?
I am the flame of the forest fire, which never goes off
I am the form of the music, that sings of sacrifice
I am the dreadful sound of the waves, dancing on the restless sea
I am the war cry of the brave, that resonates in each war
I am the sound of the war conch, that announces the victory
Untouched by fire, I am Prahlaad – the devotee of lord Vishnu
I am the ‘tandav’ dance of lord Shiva dancing in rage
I am the soul, the existence that can never be forgotten
I am the desperate cries, of the suffering and the poor
I am the commencement of the war, that perishes the oppression
I am the warm blood that flows in the veins of the valiant
I am the final blow in war, that steals away the life of enemy
I am the mace of the valiant Bheema, that crushes the thighs of the crooked Dussasana
I am the tireless soldier, who stands ever awake
I am the blessed battlefield, where warriors adorn themselves for war
I am the the great Kurukshetra, the playground of the right and wrong
Happy?

amazing poem Arindam, loved the spirit. this spirit is sadly missed in present day, the last time I heard it was from Kazi Nazrul in his legendary Bidrohi (That’s my hot favorite poem)- I have heard its recitation hundreds of times but just cant have enough of it.
November 4, 2013 at 6:31 pm
OMG! I am being compared to Kazi Nazrul… That’s a great honour…

Yes got that.
//I am the blessed battlefield, where warriors adorn themselves for war//
I think you have very unintentionally used a strong visual imagery. Very well done.
November 7, 2013 at 3:51 pm
Thanks…
But the imagery used was very intentional… I was angry that day… 😛
